Travel Program Information
Mission
The mission of the aggieAdventures Travel Program is to provide travel opportunities that combine adventure, culture and education to alumni, family and friends of UC Davis and the University of California community.
Program
The aggieAdventures Travel Program is designed for those who have the university in common and who are lively, inquisitive, and eager to broaden their cultural and intellectual horizons. All tour members are expected to enjoy traveling as part of a group and also to be tolerant of the occasional changes, delays, or minor mishaps that are to be expected from any kind of travel. Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA) sponsorship means each tour operator has met our criteria for financial responsibility, established reputation, professional staff, quality of operation and all-around dependability. CAAA adds UC Davis connections where possible through lecturers, contact with overseas alumni, pre-departure briefings, staff coordination with tour operators, association hosts, etc. Prices are competitive and often advantageous.
Eligibility and Membership
At least one participant of each traveling party must be a current Cal Aggie Alumni Association member or a member of another UC alumni association to participate in the aggieAdventures Travel Program. (A traveling party is defined as a member, spouse and child[ren] under age 21 or a member and a guest.) Membership dues of $40.00 establish an annual (regular or affiliate) CAAA membership with all association benefits. Travelers need not be alumni of UC Davis to join CAAA. Membership dues are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Registration
Reservations are currently being accepted for the 2003 aggieAdventures Travel Program and are accepted in the order in which they are received. Specific travel program brochures will be mailed as soon as they are available, typically 8-9 months before departure. Your deposit signifies your acceptance of the final brochure terms. Balance of payment is due according to the schedule established by the tour operator, typically 75 days prior to departure.
Children
Except for our family trip, aggieAdventures Travel programs are designed primarily for adults who are interested in the educational and cultural aspects of travel. Some aggieAdventures programs may be suitable for older children who have the necessary curiosity and interest. The advertised price must be paid for all children, regardless of age, and a parent or guardian must accompany those under 18.
Single Accommodations
On all tours, a limited number of single spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional fee. We will assist single travelers who want to share accommodations in finding a roommate, but if no roommate can be found, the single supplement fee will apply.
Physical Requirements
Participants in the aggieAdventures Travel Program must be in good physical and mental health, and be able to keep up with the pace of the group. Program participants requiring extraordinary assistance must be accompanied by someone who can and will provide all required assistance. Any special requirements must be noted at the time of reservation.
Cancellations and Refunds
The initial deposit for all tours is 100% refundable up to approximately eight months before departure. After this time, tour participants are subject to cancellation policies governing the particular trip in which they are enrolled. There are no refunds for unused meals, accommodations, or other included features. Please read the cancellation clause in the trip brochure carefully. Trip cancellation insurance is offered and highly recommended.
