Distinguished Achievement Award

This award honors a graduate of UC Davis whose entire lifetime since graduation reflects exemplary and outstanding performance and achievements. Specific criteria used during the selection process include 1) a culmination of lifetime achievements, 2) service to the university and 3) community and public service.

The 2007 Distinguished Achievement Award recipient is Jon R. Jessen '56

Jessen, a pioneer in sustainable pest control and agricultural practices, is the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award for exemplary conduct and achievement. He is chairman of the board of Gowan Company, an agricultural chemical company that is one of the largest employers in southern Arizona, and he has been lauded for developing his company's profit-sharing program.
